HOBOKEN
Fall 2024 - Summer 2025

We are leading a bridge-building theater project focusing on strengthening relationships between siloed communities in Hoboken. A group of local artists working with ITP’s national team, will be sparking conversations with Hobokenites to better understand and honor the multiplicity of perspectives that exist among neighbors and their complex relationships with water (the Hudson, riverfront, flooding, etc.). We are partnering with local educators, activists, artists, civic & religious leaders, and community members from all over Hoboken to ensure that everyone is invited into the playmaking process.

Community PlayLab: Create Together

📅 Sunday, May 4 | 12:30 – 3:30 PM

📍Monroe Gardens Community Room at 221 Jackson

We’re one month away from performance time—now’s the moment to shape what we’re putting on stage. Join Inheritance Theater Project (ITP) for an afternoon of collaborative art-making, movement, and reflection as we explore Hoboken residents' varied relationships with water.

This is a participatory session: we’ll be making things, sharing stories, and inviting your thoughts and opinions on how the performance is taking shape.

Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been coming all along, you’re welcome here. Help us ask: Whose voices are missing from the story? What conversations do we want this performance to open up in Hoboken?

Free | Snacks provided. | All ages welcome.
Drop in anytime.

This session will be filled with hands-on creative activities—art-making, movement, acting—paired with space to reflect, give feedback, and share ideas. What direction should the performance take? What future do we want to imagine together?

Whether this is your first time or you’ve been with us from the beginning, your presence and perspective are needed.

Whether this is your first time or your fifth, we want your voice in the room. Together we’ll ask: What do we want this project to spark after the curtain comes down?
