Omaha, NE
"EXODUS: Resettlement"
2019

Bridged Division(s):
Citizenship Status, Race, Religion

Project Summary:
Over a year in Omaha, ITP worked with recently resettled refugees and folks who did and did not welcome their arrivals to explore inheritance, identity, citizenship, and belonging through the lens of the biblical Exodus narrative. We worked with the refugee community, members of the indigenous Omaha tribe, and houses of worship, schools, and cultural institutions to devise an original piece of theater. The finished piece, staged with a passport-and-immigration framing device, was performed in four different venues around Omaha.
